Use Cases for Cin7 Core and Easy Insight

Financial Reporting

  • Calculate margins by SKU, product category, sales rep, or customer.
  • Calculate projected COGS before orders have been completed. By default, Cin7 Core will only show you COGS on completed orders. Easy Insight can pull from the average cost on your product to provide an estimated COGS before the order completes.
  • Use custom calculations of net profit taking into account shipping and marketplace fees. Pull over your shipping fees from ShipStation or StarshipIt and pull over your channel marketplace fees from Amazon SellerCentral or Shopify in order to accurately calculate net profit. For more information, see Net Profit Configuration.
  • Compare performance of your brands by creating reports that compare sales rolled up to your different brands.
  • Recreate your inventory levels and values at any point in time based on all historical inventory movements while correctly handling stock transfers.

Data Validation

  • Make sure your SKUs and their prices match with your e-commerce integrations. You can create validation reports showing any price differences between sales channels and Cin7 Core.
  • Ensure your orders from e-commerce integrations are coming into Cin7 Core. You can connect Easy Insight to your SellerCentral, Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Etsy, and other channels, then validate that no orders are being dropped.
  • Compare invoices to your accounting invoices in Xero and QuickBooks Online to make sure your financials are accurate.

Forecasting

For your Forecasting needs, we recommend starting with the Product Analysis report from the prebuilt dashboard and modifying it as you need.

  • Report on sales velocity to help calculate projected inventory demand.
  • Calculate safety stock amounts by average/max, uncertain lead time, uncertain demand, or uncertain demand and lead time.
  • Calculate inventory turnover to find overstocked items and reduce your warehouse costs.
  • Look at lead time trends by supplier to identify which suppliers are falling behind on fulfilling your purchase orders.
  • Track seasonality with your forecasts to help accurately capture upcoming demand.
  • Define reorder points and reorder quantities per SKU.

Operations

  • Send out a daily email of overdue orders, stock adjustments, inventory writeoffs, or anything else. For more information, see Scheduling Reports as Emails.
  • Track your pick, pack, and ship performance to drive faster operations out of your warehouses.
  • Create reports on your manufacturing data to look at resource and component costs and track what's currently in production.
  • Find batch or serial numbers to help with any recalls or other regulatory reports.
  • Create reports to track the service costs associated with your assembly builds.
